About Me

Thanks you so much for taking the time to get to know me and my little handmade business. I'm a mother of 3 and my longing to be a stay at home mom was my number one motivation for taking on this adventure. Little did I know that this would be far more work than my 8-5 job. I have been in business since 2002 but my love for this lifestyle goes back many many years...or shall I say decades! As a child, I would travel with my Mom and Oma (who are ceramic artists) on their adventures. We had so much fun and I fell in LOVE!

My drive for entrepreneurship and business took me to Kansas State University where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Business. While earning my degree and during my first full-time job, I continued to learn and practice silversmithing and jewelry making. I was lucky enough to already have a mom and grandma in the art business so they began to help me sell my creations and get me started. After I sold my first pieces, I was so thrilled that someone loved my pieces so much that they spent their hard earned money on them! That was the moment I realized that I can do what I love AND make money. I took a leap of faith and started selling my creations at Art Fairs and created my website www.tommicrystaldesigns.com. After my second daughter was born, I traded in my office job and began to focus on my art and my kids. I, along with my art, continue to grow as each year passes. I'm currently pursuing my Bachelors of Fine Art in Metalsmithing and I'm loving every minute of it. I learn something new everyday and I'd like to share it with YOU in the works I create!

I create my jewelry with all kinds of raw and refined mixed metals.  Some include, birthstone necklaces, enameled bracelets, soldered art charms, hand stamped pieces, custom handwriting pieces, and much more. I use a number of different mediums like silver, copper, brass, glass, semi-precious stones, recycled vintage jewelry and the list goes on.

And for those of you that know me, you are my rock. Without you, I couldn't continue this journey. Thank you for coming back...not only am I thankful for your business, I'm thankful for your friendship. I appreciate you more than you'll ever know!
